Elasticity is the athletes’ ability to output maximal power for 3-5 seconds at a time. Elasticity is a much better indication of an athlete's ability to generate sports specific power. We are the only sports performance center to do this test in Central Ohio.
We do this by comparing a 4-maximal jump average and then comparing that to a maximum 1-jump average. (4 vertical leap average divided by 1 vertical leap)
This gives us an indication of your athlete's ability to produce power over and over, which is even more closely related to athletic performance. Your athlete needs to have a high percentage, 85% to 90% of their 1-jump maximum over these 4 jumps, to be successful in most sports This means the athlete can output a high percentage of power over and over and over, with little or no drop in power output.
This is where our progressive plyometric workout system demonstrates its greatest benefit. We can help an athlete develop the athletic power they need to be successful in their sport, not just in the weight room.
