Go Sports Staff

Nick Osborne
Head Performance Coach; Owner

One of the reasons I wanted to start GO: Sports is I want to give young athletes a better way of training than is being offered. I nurture athletes that need it, and push the ones that need to be pushed.

I have always been an athlete, in one way or another. I was a multi-sport athlete in Junior High and High School. Then in college, I decided to participate in Martial Arts. I soon gained many national championships in Kung Fu, Traditional Chinese Grappling, and in Full Contact. (The precursor to MMA)

In 1996, in Beijing, China, I placing fourth in the world, just three months after a total knee reconstruction, I became the conditioning coach for the team that went to Paris for the next year’s tournament. I placed first in the heavyweight category in the World Shuai-Chiao Grappling Championships, and second in the World Boke (pronounced Bõk - ah) Mongolian Wrestling Championships.

After achieving that, I decided to test myself in Strongman. I formed one of the first successful strongman training system. I went on to be the only person to ever win North America’s Strongest Man contest 2 times as a heavyweight. I then turned professional as a Lightweight Pro Strongman. I also used the GO: Sports system to train the only winner of “The World’s Strongest Man” contest from the United States in 30 years.

I have trained, Pro, Olympic, College, High School, Junior High, and Elementary aged athletes. Nothing makes me feel more fulfilled than seeing the confidence and success that becoming a better athlete can bring, at any age.

Cory Schierberl
Director of Operations; Performance Coach

I am the Director of Operations for GO: Sports Performance Center and I am also one of the primary coaches. My journey to my current position with our center has taught me how to connect with any clientele based on both a personal and professional level. This ability to connect allows me to provide the highest quality of training and customer service possible. I take true pride in the results we help our athletes achieve and love attending every athletes’ competition I can get to!

I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 with a degree in Human Nutrition and Community Health. This degree coupled with my NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal training certification has given me a unique combination of skills and abilities that allow me to maximize the facilitation of the GO: Sports training model. You can ask any athlete I have ever trained about my coaching style, along with any parent about my customer service relations, and I am sure they will all give you the same general response: “Cory really cares about our success”. It exhilarates and drives me to be able to watch our GO: Sports athletes develop into complete and confidant individuals both on and off the field.

Brad Nicora
Master Performance Coach; CSCS

My name is Brad Nicora, I have been a master performance coach at GO: Sports Center for the last three years.  I have worked at several gyms throughout my career, but none has been as rewarding.  At GO: Sports we are different, we care about our athletes, their success and getting the results they want.

We realize that athletes only spend a minimal amount time in the gym training each week, so it is critical that this time provides maximal impact on the performance of the athlete. Teaching the athlete how to move better, be faster and gain confidence is very important to me. I want to make sure that you get the biggest bang for the time you work with me.

I began training after I graduated high school.  I loved fitness and working out.  I wanted to help as many people as I could and share my passion for exercise.  I began working at Gold’s Gym while attending the Ohio State University.  I had the fortune to train many different types of clientele. In 2002, before my graduation, I had the great opportunity to work as a student intern for the OSU Football Strength and Conditioning Staff. This was a very successful year for us, as we won the national championship.  It was also very fun for me because I got to train some of the greatest athletes in the country.  After my graduation in 2004, I worked at Planet Fitness as the General Manager.  It provided me the chance to learn a different side of the business.  However, it made me realize I could not help people like I could as a personal trainer and was not as rewarding to me.

At GO: Sports our performance coaching team is the most effective that you will find in the Columbus area.  We realize the athlete has a life outside of the gym, and it can be really hard to stay focused all the time.  That is why I am here to help you-- to help you set realistic goals that are attainable and keep you motivated along the way.

Rob Easter
Performance Coach

I am a fitness and sport fanatic that enjoys sharing the fun and excitement of exercising with as many people as I can. I have always been involved with sports, I started wrestling when I was 4 and then switched to basketball and football later on. I am very competitive and love to push others and myself to their physical potential.

Sports performance training should be fun and challenging. I want to help our athletes see improvements in the gym, and on the field. My goals are to make athletes feel great, excel in their sport, and keep them healthy.

I am a proud father of a beautiful son named Jase, the next sports fanatic in training! I am WITS certified personal trainer and I continue to advance my fitness education so that I can help as many people as possible reach their fitness and sports goals.

Joe Briggs
Performance Coach

Unlike most individuals who get involved in the health and fitness field, I was never really an athlete growing up or even the first person to be picked on the kickball team. Nope, I’ve always just been an average person. It wasn’t until I was a late teenager that I actually took action on my interest in health and fitness.

Since then, it has been very important for me to help athletes become more successful, and to feel more comfortable playing sports. I became consumed with the fitness lifestyle and the life changing experience that comes with it. I realized I wanted to be “extra” ordinary. I understand how things may seem difficult, intimidating, and how challenging it is to face adversity. More importantly I understand how to stay positive, persevere, and OVERCOME!

If you want it, go get it! I live this and put this philosophy into every type of training I do. I’m ready, are you? I am a Certified Fitness Trainer through International Sports Science Association (ISSA), Current Amateur Fitness Model Competitor in Organization of Competitive Bodybuilders (OCB) and an aspiring athlete in other sports. Strength, Spirit, Perseverance……. Now let’s GO!
